The official journal of the International Forum for the Study of Itch (IFSI), publishes original scientific papers that contribute to our understanding of the basic mechanisms and clinical aspects of itch (pruritus).

The journal's scope ranges from the molecular, genomic, proteomic and systems levels, to clinical diagnosis, treatment, and outcomes research. Articles span itch-related subjects from the disciplines of dermatology, internal medicine, neurology, neuroscience, allergy and immunology, psychology, pharmacology, palliative medicine and epidemiology. Research articles appear as full reports or brief communications. The journal also publishes systematic reviews, commentaries, editorials, case reports and letters to the Editor.
